Problemas con gentoo

Instalé linux Gentoo en mi Pc amd64 y debo decir que estoy bastante conforme con este sistema, es muy estable y realmente puedes hacer varias cosar a la vez, como compilar en el fondo y ver una pelicula sin que esta se trabe, aunque no me agrada que muchos paquetes se muestren enmascarados, y no los puedo instalar, porque aun son declarados inestables para esta arquitectura, lo que resulta muy molesto en el caso de los win32codecs, ademas firefox, por alguna razón toma demaciado tiempo en cargarse y no reconoce los plugins faltantes, intente instalar manualmente flash y no pude porque no fue hecho para mi PC x86_64. la verdad es que esta arquitectura da muchos problemas.

Bueno continuaré con mi lista de dificultades,
la verdad es que solo puedo ver peliculas porque no tengo audio, no puedo instalar alsa-driver, cuando escribo #emerge alsa-driver empieza todo bien luego salen unos warnings y finalmente me da error

Lo mismo sucede cuando intento instalar nvidia-kernel pero igual que en el caso anterior empieza todo bien y me da casi el mismo error

Otros paquete me si terminan de compilarse pero me dan un warning sobre configurar aclocal, que es esto?

Tambien tengo un problema con openoffice 1.1.4-r1, emerge descargo el archivo binario, porque el en código estaba enmascarado, bueno el problema es que los iconos son cuadrados negros entonces no se ve nada y toca pasar el mouse sobre cada uno de ellos para saber que, lo que resulta en una gran pérdida de tiempo.
Ya voy casi una semana tratando de resolver todos estas dificultades y se está volviendo un verdadero dolor de cabeza.

les agradezco de antemano a cualquier ayuda , tip, sugerencia, etc.

PD: aunque esto no es un problema auien sabe como puedo har para instalar la aplicaciones en gentoo en español solo lo he logrado con KDE, pero firefox, gaim, gimp y openoffice.org nada.

1)Actualiza tu base de datos de portage

emerge sync

2)Para que quieres drivers alsa? si eso es parte del kernel lo que si necesitas es:

emerge alsa-utils

emerge alsa-oss

(es una capa de compatibilidad entre alsa y oos sistema auntiguo de sonido) 

luego

#alsaconf

para detectar tu T.de sonido 

3)Si no te funciona los drivers de nvidia bajados con emerge puedes usar los que estan en la pagina de nvidia son mas actuales (asi los uso yo!) despues cambias en el xorg.conf nv por nvidia

(solo los instalas *no* hay que volver a recompilar el kernel)

4)Yo uso los paquetes enmascarados asi:

#ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge nombre_del_paquete probablemente

para tu AMD64 tengas que cambiar el : ~x86 por el de tu plataforma

esa info esta en tu /etc/make.conf.example  (puedes leer eso para que tengas una buena idea)
