Feather Linux es una pequeñísima distribución que cabe en un mini-CD de 210 Mb o hasta en un Pendrive USB de 64 Mb. Feather Linux 0.5.5 está basado en Knoppix 3.4, FluxBox y el Kernel 2.4.26. A pesar de su tamaño, Feather Linux incluye más de 100 aplicaciones, incluyendo las más comunes que esperamos encontrar para ser productivos: mplayer, Sylpheed, VNCviewer, XMMS, y Dillo (el pequeño navegador parchado para soportar frames y tabs), entre otros. Si queremos más, una útil función en Feather Linux permite descargar e instalar automáticamente OpenOffice, Abiword, Firefox, Thunderbird, Opera, Apache y GIMP.
