Nos cuentan en BarraPunto que micro$oft ahora tiene un sitio que trata de similar al grandioso SourceForge, este sitio se llama CodePlex pero tiene una particularidad que en realidad no nos asombra: todo lo puesto alli es de moco$oft, lo que podria significar que tu proyecto simplemente cambie de dueno en un momento indeterminado ;)
El enlace tiene una discusion interesante sobre el tema ya que en cierta forma exigen que el proyecto quede bajo una licencia que bien podria ser GPL, pero habria que ver al momento de confrontarlos.

El mensaje original publicado en barrapunto solo copia la primera parte de las condiciones de uso, el texto completo dice que el software publicado es "de Microsoft, de proveedores y/o otros usuarios registrados":

además hay otro párrafo aplicable al material otorgado para Microsoft:

pero si dice que puede usarlo o no usarlo (las sugerencia sobre codeplex) sin la obligación de reconocer pagos si es que lo usa para beneficio de Microsoft (porque es sugerencia sin duda). De todas formas una licencia Open permite que cualquiera use el software incluyendo Microsoft, cosa que dudo que harían para evitar la liberación del código después.
Por cierto que CODEPLEX está en etapa Beta.
Pero si me preguntan donde publicar mi software, seguramente no sería en CODEPLEX aunque todo fuera hecho en .NET.

mmmmm.... talvez tengas razón, pero francamente no creo en la generosidad del lado oscuro, algo hay por detrás, ¿desde cuando creen en la comunidad?

Generosidad o no
Hola!, personalmente creo que no se trata de creer o no creer en la generosidad, siempre hay intereses o posiciones, todos defendemos eso de una u otra manera.
Algo hay por detrás?, no creo que sea muy por detrás, más bien yo creo que es muy de frente, y se trata de no quedar fuera de una movida muy fuerte. Es un mercado muy poco desarrollado pero con un potencial enorme, ya lo han visto IBM, SUN, NOVELL, etc... y ellos tampoco lo apoyan por generosidad, y si MS no se mete en la jugada, solo va a perder dinero, el propio Gates lo ha aceptado, están atrazados a la nueva ola que se les está cayendo encima, y no están preparados.
